Who really owns Telkom

Telkom has released its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2015, which shows the group’s ownership by geographical region.

Telkom’s majority shareholder is the South African government, which owns 39.76% of the company as of 30 September 2014. The second-largest shareholder is the PIC, with 11.63%.

Broken down into geographical regions, Telkom’s ownership is as follows:

  • South Africa: 67.11%
  • United States: 15.51%
  • United Kingdom: 12.2%
  • Europe: 4.29%
  • Other: 0.89%
