Ex-MTN SA head becomes Mobily CEO

Former MTN South Africa CEO Ahmad Farroukh is the new CEO of Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) – a Saudi telecom operator.

The news of the appointment follows the recent resignation of Farroukh from MTN, who is due to leave the company on 31 July.

“Farroukh brings over 30 years of international business experience across the Middle East, Africa, North America, and Europe to his new role at Mobily,” said the company.

MTN previously stated that Farroukh’s departure was “unavoidable due to personal and family reasons”.

“On behalf of the MTN leadership, we thank Ahmad for his contribution and wish him success with his future endeavours,” said MTN at the time.
