Amazon Flex: delivering packages using a car and a smartphone

Amazon has launched its Amazon Flex service, where people can earn between $18 and $25 an hour delivering packages using only their car and a smartphone.

Amazon Flex is aimed at delivering ultra-fast Amazon Prime Now packages, dropping delivery times to around an hour.

“You can pick up deliveries at a location near you. You’ll receive items to deliver in a local radius, based on length of the delivery block you signed up for,” said Amazon.

Amazon is looking for people who are at least 21 years old, and have a car and a valid driver’s licence.

“You will also need an Android phone and will need to pass a background check. We’ll provide access to the app and opportunities to deliver.”

Amazon Flex is currently only available in Seattle, but the company is planning to roll it out to more parts of the United States.
