MyBroadband recently reported on the starting salaries of IT professionals in South Africa, which showed that programmers and software engineers enjoy the biggest entry-level pay.
However, it is not only the starting salary which is important. The ability to grow your salary as you become more experienced is a more important aspect to look at when choosing a career.
To find out which IT professionals enjoy the biggest salary increases, MyBroadband looked at the difference between entry-level, mid-level, and senior-level salaries for various jobs.
We used data from various sources, including South African IT salary surveys, and the salaries advertised on the CareerJunction and Careers24 websites.
To calculate the mid-level salaries, years-of-experience and seniority for the various IT professions were used.
The table below ranks IT professions based on the salary increases between entry-level, mid-level, and senior-level employees.
