Neotel Chief Corporate Services Officer Tracy Cohen has resigned from Neotel after 7 years at the company.
TechCentral reported that Cohen will join the commercial law firm Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr on 1 March 2016.
Cohen joined Neotel on 1 September 2008 as Executive Head of Regulatory Affairs after serving as a councillor for Icasa.
Cohen was promoted to Neotel’s Chief Corporate Services Officer on 1 February 2011 – a position she held until her resignation.
At Icasa, she worked on projects on market access and competition, interconnection, facilities leasing, and developing the competition framework required by the Electronic Communications Act.
Prior to joining Icasa, Cohen had a lecturing position at Wits University, and research posts at Columbia University, the University of Toronto, and the London School of Economics.
She has worked as a regulatory consultant for domestic and international organizations, including the International Telecommunication Union and the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation.
Cohen is an Honorary Research Associate at the Wits University Law School and LINK Centre, and is an editorial board member for the South African Journal of Information and Communication.
She obtained her Doctorate in Law from the University of Toronto in 2004.
