MTN promises massive network investment in 2016

MTN South Africa CEO Mteto Nyati has said that MTN will invest R12 billion in network infrastructure during 2016.

The money will go towards the roll-out of mobile voice and data services, and fixed-line broadband networks.

Nyati said the past year was the toughest MTN has ever faced, adding that they were not alone.

“People are scaling down in terms of their [capital expenditure]. We have done the opposite and made the hard choice that this is the time for us to continue investing,” said Nyati.

He said the people who are making investments now are the ones who are going to lead in the future.
