CareerJunction recently conducted an online job survey, which showed that the majority of South Africans earn less than R10,000 per month.
The CareerJunction survey was completed by 10,500 participants, it said, with a fair representation of the South African job market.
The results of the survey included:
- Just over 50% of participants said they were satisfied in their jobs.
- 86%, including those who are satisfied in their jobs, said they are looking for a new job.
- Over 90% of workers said they would move jobs if they received a reasonably good offer.
While company culture and work-life balance played a role in motivating participants to leave their jobs, 37% are motivated by better salaries and benefits, and 36% by better career growth possibilities.
