MyBroadband’s recent qualifications and salary survey shows that analysts, programmers, software engineers, and project managers enjoy the highest average salary increases.
The survey was completed by 5,867 South Africans, of which the majority had completed a tertiary qualification.
The survey results show that project managers, analysts, and programmers enjoy the highest starting salaries.
While starting salaries are important, annual salary increases play a big part in determining the future prospects of an IT career.
Some of the interesting findings from the research includes:
- Analysts enjoy relatively high starting salaries, and have good salary prospects.
- Tech support employees receive a low starting salary and have poor salary prospects.
- IT communications and media employees receive a low starting salary, but enjoy decent salary prospects.
