6 tech jobs which will be in high demand in 2017

US job site CareerCast had released its jobs report for 2016, showing which jobs will experience the most growth in the years to come.

The site said several in-demand IT jobs from 2016 will continue to show strong growth in 2017 and beyond, with Web Developers leading the way.

Demand for Computer Systems Analysts are also expected to grow in 2017, stated the report.

Six tech jobs which are expected to experience strong growth in the next few years are detailed below.


6. Network and Computer Systems Administrator – 8% growth

IT professionals who manage computers and computer networks.

5. Data Scientist – 16% growth

CareerCast said this was one of the “most lucrative” positions it tracked.

4. Software Engineer – 17% growth

Skilled engineers are in demand across many companies – not only IT-focussed organisations.

3.  Information Security Analyst – 18% growth

Information security analysts are in demand as the amount of sensitive information stored and shared online continues to grow.

The report noted that this is not the highest-paying job in the IT industry, but one showing a high growth in demand.
