UberEATS launches in Cape Town

Uber’s UberEATS food delivery app is now live in Cape Town.
This follows four months after the app launched in Johannesburg.
UberEATS allows customers to order food from partner restaurants, with orders usually taking under 45 minutes to arrive.
Users in Cape Town City Bowl, Camps Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard, Woodstock, and Observatory are now able to order meals using the UberEATS app.
Uber said it has partnered with the most popular restaurants in these areas, including HQ, Societi Bistro, My Sugar, The Creamery, Gibson’s Gourmet Burgers & Ribs, Engruna Eatery, and IYO.
“We received such a fantastic response to the launch of UberEATS in Johannesburg we couldn’t wait to launch in food-conscious Cape Town,” said Dave Kitley from UberEATS South Africa.
Users will be able to rate the service of both their courier and the restaurant by giving them a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”.
New customers will receive R100 off their first order and delivery is open from 10:00-22:00 daily, with a R20 delivery fee.
The application can be downloaded from the app store or via the official website.
