SAA has announced it will cut flights on six regional routes, reported Tourism Update.
The airline sent out a notification last week stating it would cut flights due to “operational reasons”.
SAA will cut flights across the following routes:
- Brazzaville, Congo via Pointe Noire, Congo
- Douala, Cameroon via Libreville, Gabon
- Kinshasa, DRC
- Entebbe, Uganda
- Luanda, Angola
- Cotonou, Benin via Libreville, Gabon
Passengers will be accommodated on alternative days and will waive flight change fees with alternative travel, to be finalised on or before 17 October.
This follows the airline’s recent planned reduction in the number of flights between major cities in South Africa.
The flight cuts are part of the airline’s strategy to reduce costs and become profitable, according to reports.
