The September 2017 CareerJunction Index report shows that the number of IT jobs in South Africa has started to increase – after a steady decline since the beginning of the year.
The CareerJunction Index uses data gathered from the CareerJunction website to represent labour dynamics in South Africa.
According to the report, for the first time in six months, there has been a slight uptake in demand for ICT professionals.
However, the vacancy levels in the South African ICT sector are still significantly lower than what they were a year ago.
This is in line with many other fields, which have suffered due to the slowdown in the local economy.
The charts below show the volume trends for IT job adverts published on the CareerJunction website over the past 12 months, and labour demand over time.
