Uber sexual harassment case being made into a movie

The story of Susan Fowler, an Uber engineer who published a blog post about alleged sexual harassment at the company, is being made into a movie.

Fowler said her time at Uber was “strange, fascinating, and slightly horrifying”, and revealed a case of sexual harassment involving her boss.

According to Fowler, her boss sent her text messages on her first day where he was “trying to get me to have sex with him”.

She screen-grabbed the messages and reported him to HR. However, the situation was not handled as she expected.

Then Uber CEO Travis Kalanick said: “What’s described here is abhorrent and against everything we believe in. Anyone who behaves this way or thinks this is OK will be fired.”

Kalanick later lost his position as CEO, partly because of sexual harassment concerns at the company.

Deadline reported that Good Universe will turn Fowler’s story into a movie.
