Woolworths’ online clothing sales increased by over 100% from July 2016 to July 2017, said the company.
The company said mobile is a key part of its digital strategy, with over half of the traffic to Woolworths.co.za coming from mobile devices.
Woolworths has also seen mobile transactions double over the past year.
“We’ve recently invested in a dark store for fashion, a dedicated warehouse from which to fulfill online orders,” said Woolworths.
“This helps us increase availability against increasing online demand.”
Woolworths also recently updated its app for Android and iOS with new functionality and added security.
This has resulted in a 166% growth in app registrations for the year.
