Amazon workers in Italy to strike on Black Friday

Amazon employees at a main distribution hub in Italy have threatened to strike on Black Friday, reported Reuters.

Unions said that over 500 workers at Amazon’s Piacenza site agreed to strike after negotiations over bonuses broke down.

The employees also decided not to work overtime until the new year, which would disrupt Amazon’s peak season deliveries.

Amazon said the salaries it pays are among the highest in the logistics sector, and it provides benefits such as medical insurance.

It said it is focused on its deliveries for customers on Black Friday.
