Cell C will unveil their latest financial results next week, and according to information received by MyBroadband, the figures are likely to show strong mobile broadband subscriber growth and a significant growth in data revenue.
The information shows that Cell C had grown its mobile broadband subscriber base to 86,000 users by the end of March 2011, with the biggest growth occurring in the first quarter of 2011.
According to the unconfirmed figures, Cell C showed very strong overall data revenue growth – made possible partly by the large increase in broadband subscribers.
Cell C’s strong performance in the data market also helped to increase the company’s overall revenue, which grew by 5%.
This is where the good news ends for Cell C. The company’s voice revenue has apparently declined, while its EBITDA (-21%) and EBITDA margin (-3.5%) were also lower.
The figures further showed that the company’s average revenue per user (ARPU) is also down significantly.
It should be noted that these figures are currently speculative as Cell C will only unveil their official financial results next week.
In response to questions regarding these figures, Cell C spokesperson Karin Fourie told MyBroadband “We will be releasing details around our financial results next week at our business overview function. Until then we cannot comment on your questions.”
