Following his degree at Cambridge University in the UK and a few years as an investment banker, Wyatt-Gunning has been involved in the telecommunications field since 1996, first with Long Distance International in the UK, before moving to SA in 1998 to start Storm with Tim Parsonson.
Together they built the company to revenues of R250m with 6,000 business customers across the country. They sold the business to Vox Telecom in early 2008.
Wyatt-Gunning said “after a break of 3 years from the telecoms and internet industry, I am excited by the prospect of growing Web Africa’s customer base. I have been a customer of theirs for a couple of years and have experienced their awesome service first hand.”
“They are continually rated as South Africa’s best and fastest ISP, so it’s a mouth-watering challenge to pass that message on to as many people and businesses as possible.”
Web Africa’s CEO, Matthew Tagg, added, “For years we have focused on developing our first class ADSL and hosting products for our customers, so it is great to get someone with Tim’s experience on board to promote us to a wider market.”
