Telecommunications company Telkom will meet trade unions on Friday at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in Johannesburg, the unions said.
“… the CCMA informed the trade unions last Friday that Telkom wants to meet with the trade unions again and may reconsider its offer,” Solidarity, the Communication Workers’ Union and the SA Communications Union said in a joint statement on Thursday.
Last week Telkom offered a wage increase of five percent for April to September this year, and an additional percentage point increase for the period October 2011 to March 2012.
It offered an increase of consumer price inflation plus one percent for 2012.
The unions rejected the offer.
