Internet Solutions (IS) has established an international division which will focus on the need for South African companies to expand their connectivity into Sub Saharan Africa. The international division will also assist international companies to connect from elsewhere in the world back into the growing African market.
Internet Solutions International will be headed up by Tony Walt, and will report into IS South Africa.
“To ensure that sufficient focus is placed on these growth markets, IS has decided to move one of its most experienced executives, Tony Walt, to head up this division as the divisional Managing Director,” IS said.
Internet Solutions International will directly manage IS’ established businesses and 300-strong workforce in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Mozambique. The country general managers of these operations will report to Tony Walt in future.
“This division also has a mandate to expand IS’ footprint into additional African markets and to invest in the required network infrastructure and other assets to ensure IS can deliver the best possible service to its clients in Africa,” IS explained.
Tony Walt joined Internet Solutions in 1996 and was announced as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Internet Solutions in 2007.
Prior to his appointment as COO, Walt served as the company’s sales director responsible for heading up the sales business.
