Alan Knott-Craig Junior has resigned as Managing Director of iBurst. In a statement the company says that Knott-Craig will move to Stellenbosch and that the toll on his family through commuting between the Cape and Johannesburg will be too much.
"Alan Knott-Craig has recently had a child and made a decision to relocate his family to Stellenbosch. It was concluded that commuting between Stellenbosch and Johannesburg would not allow him to effectively execute his duties as Managing Director. He ultimately faced a choice between his company and his family, and chose his family," iBurst said. "He has tendered his resignation and will remain in place for 4 months whilst a replacement is found."
Knott-Craig joined iBurst in 2006 and led the company to significant growth during his tenure. He also started to transform the company from a wireless broadband provider to a technology agnostic telecoms and broadband service provider.
This news came a day after Galela, whose telecommunications assets include iBurst SA and iBurst Africa, announced plans to reverse list into investment holding company S&J Land Holdings.
