CareerJunction has released its 2013 salary report, revealing the average IT and telecommunications salaries in South Africa.
The 2013 salary review was performed by South African labour market indicator, the CareerJunction Index (CJI), using salaries offered on the CareerJunction job portal.
“While IT salaries saw minimal change year-on-year, salary offerings for skilled and senior database administrators and developers increased by 8%-19% compared to 2012,” the salary report stated.
“According to the review the best paid IT employees are still business analysts, who can expect salary offerings of between 5% and 9% more.”
The salary report further showed that IT professionals in Gauteng earned significantly more than their counterparts in the Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal.
