Internet Solutions Ignite launched, new business DSL prices unveiled

Internet Solutions (IS) has launched its new portal for small and medium enterprises (SME) called IS Ignite, offering 1Mbps business DSL services from R349 per month, among other things.

IS Ignite promises “click-to-buy” self-service for clients, including ordering, upgrading or downgrading services online. “No call centre, no paperwork,” IS promises on the Ignite website.

News of IS’s new offerings for SMEs emerged a year ago, and the company also showed off a prototype of its ability to upgrade or downgrade ADSL speed on the fly in August 2012.

The products on offer through the IS Ignite self-service portal include:

  • Business DSL (with AlwaysOn hotspot access);
  • Domains;
  • Hosted mail;
  • Web Hosting; and
  • Other services such as bonded ADSL, wireless connectivity as an ADSL alternative in certain areas, and mobile broadband.

As with most other ISPs, IS is offering various tiers of uncapped DSL, as well as a capped product.

The IS Ignite “Business DSL Premium” package is priced “from R859” per month and includes 5 public IP addresses by default, router management (the router must be bought), and is unshaped.

IS Ignite “Business DSL Dynamic” starts at R349/month, excludes the managed router, and is shaped during the day.

Update: In the press release announcing Ignite, IS said that it aims to add more services to this offering over the coming year.
