IT, telecoms salaries in SA: how much people earn

The CareerJunction Index released its latest salary review, providing insight into the average salaries of IT professionals in South Africa.

The report is based on the latest salary offerings collected from CareerJunction’s website, which currently serves over 2 000 recruiters who advertise an average of 25 000 jobs every month.

“The latest Salary Review serves as a good indicator for job seekers and professionals in the South African job market of potential monthly earnings by occupation,” the report states.

“The salary information can also be used by employers and recruiters as a useful guide to determine reasonable remuneration packages across various occupations.”

It should be noted that these are average salaries based on advertised posts, which means that younger (junior) IT professionals are likely to earn less than the quoted figures. Older (senior) employees in turn are likely to earn more that the salaries below.
