SA’s most popular online shopping websites

Effective Measure released a new research report on eCommerce in South Africa (report available here), which shows that Kalahari, Amazon and Groupon are the top three websites from which South Africans purchased goods online.

The Effective Measure / IAB South African eCommerce report provides an overview of the South African eCommerce market.

Effective Measure Country MD South Africa, Alan Morrissey, said that South Africa’s digital citizens are very comfortable with online transactions.

The Effective Measure research found the majority of online shopping is devoted to South African sites (84.33%).

The most visited online commerce website in South Africa is Kalahari.com, followed by Amazon and Bidorbuy.

According to the Effective Measure report Kalahari is the website from which most South African purchased clothing and accessories. The second most popular shop is Amazon, followed by Groupon.

Kalahari also leads when it comes to awareness of online retail stores, followed by Amazon and PicknPay.

When looking at electronic goods websites, Incredible Connection is the most popular, followed by HiFi Corp and Dion Wired.
