Telkom’s mobile network grows
Telkom has published its financial results for the six months ended 30 September 2014, which revealed a significant increase in the number of mobile sites in its network.
Telkom announced that the number of mobile sites integrated into its network increased by 10.5% to 2,437 over the past 12 months.
The company further revealed that it grew the number of LTE sites in its network to 1,275.
To boost its mobile data capability, Telkom launched 150Mbps Long Term Evolution (LTE) Advanced services last week (14 November 2014).
This network growth is supporting the company’s increase in mobile subscribers. Over the last year Telkom increased its active mobile subscribers by 26.7% to 2,024,495.
Telkom now has 1,595,130 pre-paid mobile subscribers and 429,365 post-paid subscribers.
