Da-taaa! MTN double data promotion extended
MTN subscribers will continue to enjoy free bonus data when they buy data bundles until at least 31 July 2015, MTN has announced. The promotion was previously set to end on 30 April 2015.
This comes after the yellow network surprised pre-paid subscribers with the announcement of a data bundle price hike that kicked in on 23 April.
Data bundle prices increased between 4% at the high end (20GB) to 67% on low-end bundles like Rush Hour 50MB.
Contract customers will also see a price increase to their subscription fees from 13 May 2015.
MTN is not the only network to announce price hikes, as Cell C implemented its reviewed pricing structure in Februuary, while Vodacom said it would hike prices from 1 May 2015.
Following the price hike, MTN has renamed its Data Giveback promotion, dubbing it “Da-taaa bundles”.
