Capping cell phone call rates not illegal: EU
Vodafone, Telefonica O2, T-Mobile and Orange had argued that maximum price limits for “roaming” – making or receiving calls outside the user’s home nation – were illegal.
A Tuesday ruling from the European Court of Justice dismissed their arguments, saying the EU’s executive had the right to fix limits for roaming fees, which telecoms companies were charging at well above real costs.
