Free WhatsApp with Cell C’s new TRACE Mobile prepaid plan

Cell C has extended its two-year partnership with TRACE TV to launch TRACE Mobile, a service featuring content that is coupled with a Cell C prepaid tariff plan.

TRACE Urban is a music TV channel on DStv, and Cell C subscribers who sign up with TRACE Mobile will receive access to TRACE Music – a music radio streaming service.

They will also receive loyalty and lifestyle rewards.

While Cell C has ended its free WhatsApp data promotion on other tariff plans, offering a R5 for 1GB WhatsApp bundle instead, TRACE Mobile will have free WhatsApp.

It will also have free access to Facebook and Wikipedia through Internet.org.

TRACE also offers access to its social platform called TRACE Friends.

Subscribers will also be able to upload video content to the TRACE Mobile portal with #UONAIR for a chance to be broadcast on the DStv channel.

TRACE Mobile lets customers select five other Cell C numbers as “friends and family” to which calls will be charged at a rate of 49c per minute.

The new prepaid plan will be available from 7 September.

Starter packs can be ordered online via the TRACE Mobile website. Existing Cell C prepaid customers can dial *147# or *108# to change to the TRACE Mobile tariff plan.

The TRACE Mobile packages are based on Cell C’s EasyPay prepaid tariff plan, and enjoy some of the same features – such as access to MegaBonus.
