Best and worst mobile networks in South Africa
Atio’s September 2015 network research shows that Vodacom has the best mobile network in South Africa, far outranking its competitors.
Atio’s testing includes drive tests and user emulation tests on South Africa’s mobile networks.
The research, which was quoted by Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub in his interim results presentation, shows that Vodacom’s dropped call rate of 0.4% was three times lower than their closest rival, Telkom.
The report further showed that Vodacom’s average download speed was 13.4Mbps, higher than its closest competitor MTN at 6.4Mbps.
