Vodacom will accelerate the growth of its fixed-line services, broadband, and fibre-to-the-home offering in 2016 – according to Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub.
Joosub told MyBroadband that Vodacom is focused on delivering a differentiated customer experience, built on best connectivity and service.
“The golden thread will be our CARE programme, which ensures that our customers are always in control,” said Joosub.
He said they will also remain focussed on improving their customer interactions and services to ensure worry-free use of services.
“For instance, when customers travel overseas they are now be able to call customer care 24/7 and use the Vodacom App for free. We’ve also widened our Travel Saver price plan to over 180 countries.”
Big broadband and VOD plans for 2016
Joosub said Vodacom will accelerate the growth of its fixed-line services, broadband, and FTTx in 2016.
“With that, we will build further on the positive traction we recorded with our streaming service Deezer.”
He said they expect this to continue to grow, along with other content services like video on demand (VOD).
“While we have our own VOD plans in the pipeline, we are also in discussions with existing and international VOD players to explore partnerships.”
He said innovation is core to Vodacom’s DNA, and that they will keep producing tailored services that meet customers’ unique requirements.
We need spectrum certainty
Joosub said they would like to see clear regulatory policies and spectrum certainty from government in 2016.
“The allocation of spectrum is key for the industry, as it will help us to roll out LTE/4G services a lot more aggressively.”
“This is imperative to cope with the massive growth we are seeing in demand for data services.”
