Cell C achieves 600Mbps in LTE-U test
Cell C, in conjunction with Huawei, has achieved download speeds of over 600Mbps on its LTE-U test site.
Using a pre-commercial device, Cell C used 15MHz of its licensed spectrum in the 2,100MHz band and 2 x 20MHz of spectrum in the 5GHz Wi-Fi band to conduct the test.
Using this configuration with high modulation scheme technologies (256QAM) and carrier aggregation of the three frequency bands, Cell C achieved a top download speed of 630.13Mbps and an upload speed of 46.27Mbps.
Technically, the company managed to complete a test of 900Mbps – however, this was through a direct connection and is not a real-world scenario.
“Cell C tested LTE-U with a prototype future device… to demonstrate where this technology and the company is going in the coming months and years,” said Cell C.
“Cell C once again demonstrates its ability to innovate as well as apply in-house skills to stay ahead of the curve in bringing customers world-class products and services.”
