Vodacom outage in Cape Town – the details

A number of Vodacom clients in Cape Town complained on 1 July that they were unable to receive calls.

Vodacom has confirmed there was an issue, stating that certain subscribers on its 2G network in the Cape Town metro experienced intermittent service following planned network maintenance last night.

“We can confirm that the issue, affecting inbound calls to some subscribers on the 2G network, has been resolved,” said Vodacom.

“We’d like to extend our apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced.”
