Laptop, cellphone, HSPA modem and 2GB data for R315 per month
After offering the BlackBerry Curve and HTC Wildfire on R99 per month deals, Altech has done one better this week in a partnership with Cell C.
For R315 per month Altech is offering a Cell C ActiveChat 100 contract which includes a Lenovo G550 laptop, a Samsung E2120 handset and 2GB of data per month for 12 months on a Huawei E1752 HSPA modem.
This deal is available from 8 December 2010 to 12 December 2010 to new subscribers, Altech Autopage said in a press statement.
Details were sparse in the press statement, and it is unclear what the term of the contract will be.
The ActiveChat 100 contract usually costs R250 per month and is typically available in contract terms of 1, 12, and 24 months. Cell C currently offers a Huawei E1752 bundled with 2GB of data per month on a 12 month contract for R149 per month.
The Huawei E1752 modem offers download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5.76 Mbps.
Lenovo’s G550 laptop sports a 15.6” LED backlit screen capable of running at a resolution of 1366×768. The rest of the important specifications of the notebook are variable and Altech wasn’t specific about the processor, amount of RAM, operating system, hard drive, or graphics card it would use.
“This week’s data offering is one that will certainly help more South Africans to get connected and we are pleased to be able to bring it to market by offering all South African’s an affordable laptop and data package in time for the holiday season” said Boyd Chislett, Managing Director of Altech Autopage Cellular.
Chislett added that there is still one more deal to look forward to next week.
Altech Autopage warned that the deal is available at selected stores only, but didn’t specify which.
