CWU withdraws interdict application against MTN
MTN said it is pleased with the decision by the Communication Workers Union (CWU) to withdraw its interdict application against the company.
“The CWU lodged an interdict application which sought to halt MTN from going ahead with its plans of outsourcing some of its call centre facilities,” said MTN.
MTN said it has been vindicated by the CWU’s decision to withdraw the interdict application.
MTN announced plans to outsource some of its call centre facilities in August, with the operator adopting a hybrid outsource model which will “result in some call centres being outsourced to an experienced third-party vendor”.
MTN said the move is aimed at optimising MTN’s operations and enhancing customer experience.
The CWU has objected to the move by MTN.
