T-Mobile launching 400Mbps LTE

Speedtest

T-Mobile will launch 400Mbps LTE services for its customers, following upgrades to its network in the United States.

The upgrades are available in 319 US cities, reported TNW, and will involve incorporating 4×4 MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) technology into the network.

Only certain devices will be able to support the high-speed technology, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

“In October, the company will roll out 256 QAM support to the S7 and S7 Edge, which increases the amount of bits per transmission,” stated the report.

T-Mobile said customers can expect “real-world peak speeds” of 190Mbps once the upgrades roll out.
