Watch out for this Vodacom scam
Vodacom has warned customers to be aware of a scam where fraudsters attempt to harvest personal information.
The company said several customers have been asked to provide personal information by fraudsters pretending to be Vodacom by using a fake Facebook account.
“It is important to stress that Vodacom will never ask customers for sensitive information through social media and, in particular, PIN codes linked to bank accounts,” said Vodacom.
“Vodacom advises customers to remain vigilant and be aware that fraudsters employ a variety of techniques to solicit personal or other confidential information.”
