Cell C’s latest financial results show that the operator generated R6.963 billion in revenue for the six months ended June 2016.
It made a profit of R2.8 million over this period, which is a massive turnaround from the same period last year – where the company made a loss of R1.158 billion.
The financial report stated that Cell C’s growth in revenue can be attributed to an increase in service spend and equipment revenue.
“The prepaid segment was the main driver of growth in service spend,” stated the report.
The report detailed information related to each reportable segment, which is set out below.
“Segment revenue, as included in the internal management reports reviewed by the Group’s executive committee, is used to measure performance,” stated the report.
