Big FNB Connect “price increase” – what happened

FNB has explained why Connect customers saw an increase in data bundle prices on the network, following complaints about the matter.

FNB Connect customers told MyBroadband that data prices had gone up “without any warning”, and that a 2GB package – for example – went from R95 to R245.

Chief Commercial Officer for FNB Connect, Shadrack Palmer, said the price increases were due to a promotional offer coming to an end.

“FNB Connect launched promotional once-off data bundles for three months in June 2016 and extended the offer for an additional two months,” said Palmer.

“The promotion officially ended on 20 November and prices for once-off data bundles have been adjusted accordingly.”

“FNB Connect Postpaid customers who use recurring data bundles will not be impacted.”

FNB said the revised once-off data bundle prices remain competitive and customers have the benefit of earning up to 40% back in eBucks on their purchases.

“We aim to continue providing our customers with superior value and to increase customer satisfaction, convenience, and lessen customer angst.”

FNB said Connect’s data prices are as follows:
