Blue Label Telecoms said there is no truth to industry rumours that Vodacom has cancelled the company’s airtime distribution agreement.
MyBroadband was told by an industry source that Vodacom gave Blue Label a notice of termination in 2016, which has a five-year notice period.
Blue Label CEOs Brett and Mark Levy stated that while their contracts are governed by confidentiality, they are currently renegotiating their distribution deal with Vodacom.
Blue Label said it is a neutral aggregator of products and services, and will remain loyal to Vodacom. This comes as the company looks to finalise the purchase of a 45% stake in Cell C.
Vodacom said its distribution agreements are “governed by confidentiality clauses that prevent us from disclosing the terms and conditions with third parties”, when asked about the alleged cancellation.
