T-Mobile launches Scam Block on its network

Scam

US network T-Mobile has launched Scam ID and Scam Block, a system which will protect customers from scam calls.

“With Scam ID, customers are automatically alerted when an incoming call is likely a scam,” said T-Mobile.

When customers enable Scam Block, T-Mobile will stop scam calls before they reach the user, it added.

The feature is available for free and will work on all phones on the company’s network.

Scam ID and Scam Block work through T-Mobile’s systems analysing calls and screening them against a global database of tens of thousands of known scammer numbers.

This is used to identify the call as a potential scam.

If a user would prefer not to receive the call at all, Scam Block will terminate the call before its reaches them.
