Crystal Web has launched Crystal Air LTE-A, a service based on the Rain LTE-A network.

Crystal Web CEO Shaun Kaplan said Crystal Air “takes less time to get connected than traditional fixed line and fixed wireless connections, and works out more affordable for most end users”.

Monthly packages are available from 1 July 2017 on a month-to-month basis, with three data options to choose from:

  • Mach 55 – R549 for 55GB
  • Mach 85 – R799 for 85GB
  • Mach 120 – R999 for 120GB

“Speeds are dependent on coverage, but in our testing, we have been able to achieve FTTH and FTTB-like speeds without any hassles,” said Kaplan.

Crystal Air’s activation fee is R2,195, and includes a wireless LTE-A router, SIM card, and delivery.

Data top-ups are priced as follows, and valid for 30 days from purchase:

  • 1GB – R35
  • 2GB – R59
  • 3GB – R80
  • 5GB – R115
  • 10GB – R205
  • 20GB – R345

“The Crystal Air product suite will soon expand to include outdoor installations for even faster connectivity, and we are exploring the option of data roll-over and other package sizes.”
