MyBroadband’s latest Android and iOS Speed Test app results show that Vodacom’s LTE network produced the highest average download speed in Q2 2017.
MyBroadband’s free Speed Test app for Android and iOS offers users an easy and ad-free way to test their Internet connection.
Over the last quarter – April to June 2017 – 109,545 speed tests were conducted using the MyBroadband app.
Of these tests, 53,162 came from the Vodacom network, 31,694 from MTN, 14,419 from Cell C, and 10,270 from Telkom.
LTE was the most-used mobile technology in these tests, which was partly thanks to the majority of the tests being conducted in metropolitan areas.
The Speed Test app results show that Vodacom had the highest average LTE download speed at 37.8Mbps, followed by MTN on 34.2Mbps.
The charts below show the average download speed, upload speed, and latency of the four major operators’ LTE networks.
