Vodacom mobile data problems in iOS 11.1

Apple iPhone users running iOS 11.1 and on the Vodacom network have reported mobile data connectivity issues.

MyBroadband staff and readers have reported that when using an iPhone 6s running iOS 11.1, there is an issue with establishing a mobile data session when disconnecting from a Wi-Fi connection.

An example of this is their iPhone being connected to a work Wi-Fi network, and when they leave the office, their device switches to a mobile data connection – but there is no throughput.

Mobile browsing and apps therefore cannot establish an Internet connection.

To use mobile data, users have resorted to switching their device off and on again.

Vodacom said it is aware of the issue and has been working with Apple to resolve it.

It advised affected customers to switch from Voice and Data to Data Only in the Enable 4G menu in Mobile Data settings.
