Rain Mobile launches Alpha trial
Rain Mobile has launched an Alpha trial, which is the first phase of testing of its LTE-A mobile network in metropolitan areas.
The Alpha version of Rain Mobile is only available to Rain staff, who have been provided with a Rain App and SIM.
Once the Rain Alpha test has been successfully concluded, the trial will be extended to a select group of users outside the Rain business.
As part of Rain’s mobile plans, Outsurance CEO Willem Roos will take up the position of Rain Mobile CEO on 31 December 2017.
The company also unveiled its new logo today – shown below – with a white, silver, and blue colour scheme to fit in with the visuals of natural clouds and rain.
Rain Mobile is predicted to take on traditional mobile networks with data-centric packages, and will run alongside the company’s existing fixed-LTE-A packages – which are offered through local ISPs.
