Vodacom network problems
Numerous Vodacom subscribers reported this morning (30 June 2011), that just after midday they began experiencing problems making calls and using SMS services.
Vodacom confirmed the problems, saying that they are aware that certain customers “are experiencing issues calling and SMSing”.
“We are currently experiencing network issues in some areas. Our engineering team is working hard to resolve the problem,” Vodacom spokesperson Ashleigh Dubbelman said.
The reasons behind the network problems are currently unknown, and there is no firm time or date at which the problems are likely to be resolved.
Consumers not happy
The operator’s Facebook followers were not impressed with the network problems and lack of concrete information about the cause of the downtime.
“I am done with Vodacom. I can’t cope to complain every week with their poor service and at the end they can’t resolve the problem,” said one Vodacom Facebook follower.
“This is ridiculous, I paid for a full months subscription and don’t think it fair that you failed to deliver your service,” said another.
