We have not increased contract prices – Vodacom

Vodacom has stated that the company has not raised its contract tariffs, following questions from MyBroadband.

The questions arose after MyBroadband readers pointed out what appeared to be price hikes for certain Samsung smartphone contracts.

Two of the examples provided were:

  • The Samsung Galaxy S9 was available for R699 per month on a uChoose Flexi 220 contract on 30 May. The Samsung Galaxy S9 on the same contract today is R719 per month.
  • On 4 October, the Samsung Galaxy S9+ was available from R699 per month, as advertised on the “devices” shopping page on the Vodacom website. Today, the same page shows the Samsung Galaxy S9+ available from R849 per month.

Vodacom told MyBroadband that it has not increased its contract tariffs, and that “pricing on deals and promotions differ and change from time to time”.

“Please note that the two examples you mentioned are deal specific. Pricing on deals and promotions change from time to time, depending on the packages or bundles we structure for that specific month,” said Vodacom.
