Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C have confirmed plans to offer BlackBerry 10 smartphones following the global unveiling of the platform on 30 January 2013.

Cell C had already stated their intention to offer BlackBerry 10 devices shortly after BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) revealed that South Africa would be part of the launch event.

Vodacom and MTN had not said anything about their plans until recently, however.

“MTN will be ranging BlackBerry 10 and will make further announcement to media on pricing and availability in due course,” said Mike Fairon, GM of product solutions at MTN.

A Vodacom spokesperson provided a similar statement, confirming the network’s intentions to launch BlackBerry 10 smartphones and adding that “the launch date will be announced closer to the time”.

8ta was asked about their BlackBerry 10 plans, but did not respond by the time of publication.
