MTN offers free airtime
MTN is the latest cellular operator to offer its prepaid customers extra value for money in their MTN 1-4-1 loyalty programme.
MTN subscribers who join the programme before 31 March 2009 get 20% of the airtime they spent in February 2009 back.
Subscribers will also get bonus points for all airtime they have used over the last two months. The bonus points can be used to purchase airtime, SMS bundles, data bundles or FIFA tickets.
This promotion comes only weeks after the company launched its MTN Zone SMS service which promises up to 95% discount on SMSes sent to local networks.
MTN is however not the only company launching prepaid promotions, Both Cell C, with their Woza Wheneva, and Vodacom, with the Vodacom March Madness, have launched promotions aimed at the prepaid market.
Cell C launched their Woza Wheneva promotion in late February, giving away 20 free Cell-C-to-Cell-C minutes for every R10 (accumulated) spent on recharging.
Vodacom in turn launched its March Madness promotion last week, offering prepaid subscribers 20% free airtime – which can be used on calls to any network – when they recharge their account in the month of March.
