ICASA QoS results: Vodacom vs MTN vs Cell C

ICASA released its latest Quality of Service (QoS) Monitoring Test Reports, revealing that Cell C has the best average Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR) while MTN has the lowest (best) Drop Call Rate (DCR).

ICASA tested the mobile operators’ networks and services in the Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal Provinces.

ICASA conducted the QoS monitoring through drive-testing, using the TEMS investigation tool. The metrics used to measure network quality were Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR) and Drop Call Rate (DCR).

According to the reports, Cell C had the best Call Setup Success Rate at 96.84%, while MTN ranked top with a Drop Call Rate (DCR) of 0.80%.
