Telkom Mobile LTE – 200Mbps demo
Telkom Mobile’s Amith Maharaj showcased their release 9 LTE network at the 2013 MyBroadband Conference on 9 October 2013, with peak speeds exceeding 200Mbps.
Telkom Mobile is rolling out a TDD LTE network using 2,300Mhz spectrum, which Maharaj said is enjoying increasing support globally.
Maharaj added that they already have an Apple device using TDD LTE, which the company is currently testing on its network.
In a live demonstration at the annual MyBroadband conference on 9 October 2013, Maharaj downloaded files from an FTP server at speeds between 150Mbps and 200Mbps.
The speed peaked at well above 200Mbps on various occasions. Even with multiple users on the site, the service performance was still impressive.
